At the tenth anniversary of the NATO-led military intervention in Afghanistan, an international coalition of over 120 human rights and humanitarian NGOs called on the international community to chart a new direction in its approach, ahead of the major summit between Afghanistan and its international partners on 5 December in Bonn, Germany
On 7 October 2011, this call for action was backed by a series of protest events being held in several European capitals where supporters raised giant kites proclaiming “Afghanistan ten years: Time to Get It Right!”, along with other eye-catching ways to get their message across.
Below, you can read about the events that took place around the world.
